Brief Description

The Personal Status Act (No. 36 of 2010) contains many articles relating to women and children, beginning with those that establish the right of women to marry, to freely choose their spouse and to be protected from forced marriage and from deception. The Act lists a full set of women's rights, both material and moral rights. It establishes that women have precedence over men when it comes to the right to custody and care of children (hadanah).
